Autobiography or Life Story: A comprehensive, chronological account of your entire life, detailing the key events, experiences, and milestones from your birth to the present in a factual, structured format.
Memoir: A focused narrative that highlights select moments, themes, or periods from your life. Memoirs emphasize your personal reflections, emotions, and insights rather than offer a complete chronology of your life.
Photo Memoir: A visual-driven memoir that combines photographs with brief narratives or captions, focusing on illustrated stories from your life to evoke memories and emotions. Picture your grandmother sitting next to you explaining the stories behind what you see in old photographs.
Tribute Memoir: A collaborative collection of writings from loved ones about a central person, featuring favorite memories, cherished stories, or reasons why they admire or love the individual, serving as a heartfelt homage to their life and impact.
Anthology: A collection of just about anything that can be produced in book form. An anthology could include recipes, short stories, poems, songs, jokes, artwork, or anything similar.
Legacy Letter: Also called an ethical will, this is a concise letter or longer document written to select people (usually your loved ones) that shares your core values, life lessons, and wisdom.

Do It Yourself, or Have Us Help!

You can create a legacy book on your own or hire us to help you at any stage of your legacy project. Here’s how we can help at each stage:

1. Gather Stage Services

Photo Scanning: For residents of Northwest Arkansas, we convert photos, documents, or other materials to a high-resolution digital format (PDF, JPG, or TIFF). We scan them locally, eliminating the need for you to ship them, meaning your precious documents are kept safe. We deliver the scanned digital files to you via ZIP file or by USB drive. Legacy Recording Sessions. We conduct in-person or online legacy interviews (either audio or video) to help you preserve your legacy and record your personal history for your loved ones. Legacy recording sessions can also include the conversion of your recordings to an editable text transcript that can be used to produce your finished legacy project. $35/hour
Transcription Services (audio or video file to text file): We transcribe your audio or video files (e.g., MP3, MP4, WAV) into editable text (e.g., TXT, DOC), with speaker identification for each segment using ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) software on our local machine. Accuracy is about 95% with a single speaker. Some complicated transcripts may use online LLM services to refine the transcript if needed. $4 per file + 10¢ per minute

2. Refine Stage Services

Developmental Editing: We help shape your memories into a cohesive, meaningful story with a clear central theme. We provide guidance to reorganize chapters by emotional impact—not just dates—remove repeated anecdotes, strengthen transitions, and fill gaps to highlight your life’s wisdom. 3.0¢ per word
Collaborative Editing: We transform the raw text of your transcribed audio recordings into polished, book-ready prose in real time. As we review each passage together over a video call, we identify the primary theme, merge fragmented speaker turns into seamless narrative paragraphs, eliminate filler words and repetitions, and restructure the dialogue for natural flow and readability, all while preserving every nuance of your meaning. You watch every edit unfold, and we pause at any moment to clarify your intent, verify details, or refine phrasing. When we’re finished, you’ll have distinct, polished files of each of your recordings that you can then arrange and form into a final narrative. $35/hour
Line & Copy Editing (combined): We make every sentence clear, vivid, and true to your voice, while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and correctness. We cut fillers, vary rhythm, add sensory details, and ensure smooth flow, without altering your personality. We fact-check names, dates, and places; standardize terms; and apply proper grammar, punctuation, and style. A custom style sheet tracks family details. 2.5¢ per word
Proofreading: We catch final errors in the formatted PDF document, identifying typos & alignment errors, ensuring consistent headers and page numbers, and identifying widows/orphans. We don’t implement any story changes; we just do the final surface polish. 1.75¢ per word or FREE with interior book layout services (see Produce Stage Services below)

3. Produce Stage Services

Interior Layout & Cover Design: We design a professional, print-ready cover for your legacy book, and layout the interior text with photos, captions, and polished formatting. Once your files are finished and approved, we publish through a trusted print-on-demand platform that’s ideal for private projects. Here’s what that means for you:
- Your book interior and cover are designed as print-ready PDFs aligned with the required publishing specifications.
- 100% private — Your book is never sold in bookstores or online. It’s unlisted and unsearchable with no public access.
- Only order the copies you need, whether that’s 1 or 100. No inventory required!
- You have your own private purchase link. Only the people you invite can view and buy your book.
Interior Layout Cost: $160 for up to 25K words. +$10 for each additional 5K words. Photo placement, $2 each; Captions, $0.50 each
Cover Design Cost: Paperback, $140; Dust Jacket, $165

- BW interior: paperback, $10; hardback, $19; dust jacket, $25
- BW interior + BW photos: paperback, $13; hardback, $23; $27
